Privacy Policy

This is an outline for counsel. Bracketed items must be written or confirmed by counsel before release (CalOPPA and CCPA/CPRA).

Who this policy covers

What we collect

• Account: your email address, how you sign in (email code, Apple or Google) and when you accepted our terms.
• Move plans: areas, budget range, move window, home type and roommate preference.
• Rent contributions: what you pay, and bills or leases you choose to upload. Documents are scanned for malware, read for the rent amount and kept only as long as you choose.
• Roommate profiles, messages and reports, if you use those features.
• Background checks, only if you order one, under their own disclosures.
• Device: app version, platform and a random install id. We don’t collect your device’s location coordinates.

Where it comes from

• From you, from your device, from sign-in providers you choose (Apple or Google: your email and an account id), and from screening vendors when you order a check.

How we use it

• To run your account, show rent data and homes, suggest roommates, deliver messages and keep Pact safe.
• Rent data is shown to others only as aggregates with minimum group sizes, never your own numbers.

Who we share it with

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

• Pact has no advertising or cross-site tracking. On the web we honour Global Privacy Control by turning off product analytics for that visit. [TODO counsel: confirm wording]
